Gabrielle Scawthorn

Originally from Australia, Gabrielle trained at NIDA and has since studied with The Atlantic Theatre Company (US). She is currently touring in The Confessions by Alexander Zeldin which will have a season at The National Theatre, London in late 2023. Some of her theatre other credits include: The Apologists (The Omnibus Theatre, VAULT Festival), The Underpants (Seymour Centre), Stop Kiss (Unlikely Productions - Sydney Theatre Award Nomination), Young Tycoons (Darlinghurst Theatre Co), Young and Jackson (45 Downstairs) Ride and Fourplay (Darlinghurst Theatre Company) Bloodbank (Ensemble), Love's Labours Lost (Sport for Jove), Shakespearealism (Sport for Jove), Hurt (Old 505, Belvoir), E-Baby (Ensemble - Broadway World Award Nomination), Village Bike (Red Line Productions, Cross Pollinate Productions - Sydney Theatre Award Nomination, Broadway World Award Nomination), Darja in Ironbound (KXT Bakehouse),(Sydney Theatre award nom) Ear To The Edge of Time (Sport For Jove).

TV credits: The Killing Fields (Cornerstone/Channel 7), Doctor Blake Mysteries (ABC), Freshblood (ABC2, ABC iView), Deadly Women (Beyond Entertainment). Film: Dick’s Clinic (Smack Art). Gabrielle also writes, performs and produces sketch comedy with I’m With Stupid; their work has been featured on ABC, ABC2, Funny or Die and The Big Smoke. 

Gabrielle directed the musical Death Suits You (Camden Fringe Festival - OFFEST Nomination, VAULT Festival Show of the Week, Edinburgh Spirit of the fringe Award) and co-wrote the play 1&Only (2020 VAULT Festival). She is also a sought after workshop facilitator and acting coach.

She is currently the host of the Back From Reality podcast, exploring the world of reality television and the impact that it has on the lives of its participants. The play she developed from this podcast Realing received a workshop at the National Theatre Studio in 2022.

Gabrielle currently moves between London and Sydney.
